Q. Were you
on a business trip to Moscow or was it for pleasure?
Pleasure! I live by the work hard, play hard mantra and this
trip definitely fell on the side of play hard. During my time abroad, I went to
Germany, Russia, Austria, Belgium and France.
Q. What was
your take on the fashion scene in Moscow?
Loved it! I
am familiar with designers coming out of places like NYC and Paris so the high
fashion of Russia took me by surprise and far exceeded expectations. Forget
summer stockings, anything goes in Moscow.
Q. How is
it different from New York?
Winter white from head to toe. Long dresses. Strong and bold
geometries. Lots of lace.
there any unusual jewelry trends you noticed there?
I had the opportunity to meet and get to know the fabulous
and eccentric Evgenia Linovich of Maseterpeace
Jewelry who was presenting her newest collection at Mercedez Benz Fashion Week
in Moscow. Launched in 2012, Evgenia is now of international fame and
this season she is all about headbands. Beaded, gold-toned, fabric printed,
enameled, flowered, hand embroidered, you name it - her colorful headbands run
the gamut of creativity. Some of them even had "earrings" hanging
from the side for a creative take on the traditional stud. Her inspiration
behind the headbands were the crowns of the Russian Tsar and tiaras of eastern
princesses. So not New York!
other fashion comments you can share with us?
Hats, hats, hats. Also, women are NOT afraid to wear heels.
Girls after my own heart.
we would love to know what you are up to these days. :-)
When I'm not globe trotting, you can find me in NYC looking
for the newest restaurants and hotspots. I also (somehow) find time to work in
business development at a global financial services firm.
